The new RC429 is a North Yorkshire-bred down country steel hardtail. It's your rowdy sibling to past ideas of the typical XC rider. Designed to redefine what's possible within the hardtail genre and waiting for you to rise to the adventure.
Hitting a sweet spot for general trail riding or bike-packing this is the ultimate do-it-all bike you've been looking for, it's roots are hardtail but your life-long partner for travelling far and wide.
Cycling has progressed and so have our bikes. Whether or not you want to take the easy way or the hard route it's designed to meet modern demands on a simple machine. Although you could put a frame, handlebar and saddle bags on any kind of bike, the RC429 is purpose built and we've incorporated design elements that make that whole bikepacking experience much better.
Aswell as allowing you to reignite your spirit for adventure the RC429 is also designed to fuel a fast-paced XC power hour, ride through any landscape of your choice or tuck in on the drop bars on a gravel fireroad, this is a bike that's ready to rise to any occasion and get you away from it all.

Squeezing every ounce of performance out of a short travel trail bike was our brief- no compromises on spec’, speed and stability and certainly no shortage of attitude and fun. Combining low and slack geometry with short travel is a revelation and breaks down the boundaries between what’s expected from a short travel bike and what actually can be achieved.

Our interpretation of a downcountry bike- fast and fun downcountry- but when you’re out on your adventures confidently handles more rad terrainThe geometry and design of the RC429 allows you to do just that in a short travel design envelope. We wanted an XC feel, but we didn't want to step back in time to old school geometry just for that XC feel…XC has changed and we wanted to reap the benefits of a modern progressive geometry.

EXTREME GRAVEL - GPACK
When the gravel runs out and the tech begins the RC429 comes into its own…not a gravel bike but a specialist off-road/travel/bikepacking tool that’s as happy cranking in the miles as it is flicking through the singletrack. Through careful design the cockpit on this dropbar rig mimics that of a modern gravel bike but underneath you the geometry stretches and slackens making it far more capable and confidence inspiring.
With its GRX transmission paired to custom made Hope wheels and crank the 429 ups the speed and stability whether in carbon rigid or short travel MTB suspension spec’.

We offer many different variations of builds which have been tried and tested by us here at Pace, all specifications have been chosen to suit the riding style of the RC429. However, just about everything with your build can be customised to help personalise your RC429. From choosing your own custom fork options to different hub colours - We want to make sure your bike is suited to exactly what you love, if you've got some of your favourite wheels hanging up in your shed, or the comfiest saddle you've ever sat on - send us them to fit.
All the bikes and frames are assembled right here in the UK by us so we can do anything to create your dream ride. You can customise your bike by adding notes into the checkout or contact us directly if you want to add anything to your order.
