20 Years Old – Servicing Mountain Bikers Suspension since 1991

(If you want to skip the following info and go straight to BOOK A SERVICE please click on Download Service Form at the end of this page)

For Dalby Suspension Service Centre opening times please check out the ‘Pace open weekends’ news tab. Also please note service centre is closed Sundays.

Pace Cycles is the longest established mountain bike suspension service centre in the UK- if not the world; we’ve been elbow deep in hydraulic oil and grease for over 20 years cleaning, repairing and tuning suspension. But to coincide with our move to the heart of Dalby Forest our service centre not only gets a name change but now also provides a much more comprehensive range of services.

Our factory trained technicians can now service Scott, DTSwiss, Fox, Rock Shox, Manitou, Marzocchi and of course Pace. From a 1989 Pace fork through to the very latest shocks no matter how old or destroyed you think your suspension is we can refurbish it so it performs as good if not better than the day it was made.

DTSwiss wheels- our technicians are trained in Switzerland by DTSwiss who are ackowledged as world leaders in wheel design and construction. Wheels are built and repaired by hand using original guaranteed quality parts to a precision not found elsewhere.

We also offer a unique Courtesy Shock service. Ride the Dalby trails using our Courtesy suspension whilst we service yours. Please call Pace to check we have appropriate shock instock and its available on date required.

What do we do during a service and whats included?

We book your suspension into our system so we can track and trace then hand clean and check the units functions. Its then carefully stripped down and all seals, o-rings and oils discarded before all parts are then degreased, cleaned and checked. We also inspect the structure to ensure it hasn’t suffered from crash damage and check the bushings for wear before laying out all parts on the engineers bench ready for reassembly. Then we reassemble using genuine factory wiper seals, foam rings and our own high quality o-rings and quad rings. We only use the highest performance fully synthetic hydraulic oils, Pace fork grease and Slick Honey lube in assembly (we know this is more expensive but the reduced friction and increased performance is well worth while). Finally all functions and adjusters are checked and if the unit is air sprung the pressures are set and unit is air tested (ideally we like to keep overnight and recheck after at least 12 hours at high pressure).

We also offer a basic service which is useful mid-season, or when you have been using your bike in really dirty conditions. For forks, we remove the slider and thoroughly clean and degrease, check and lubricate the seals, rebuild with fresh oils and grease, and finally, check all of the functions. For shocks, we remove the air can, thoroughly clean, then replace seals with new, rebuild and check all functions. It is worth bearing in mind that some manufacturers require these basic services to be carried out every 15 hours, otherwise warranties can be void!

Suspension Seatpost Service. Pace now offer a full repair and service on Rock Shox Reverb seatposts to keep them functioning correctly and minimise wear (which keeps rotational movement to a minimum).

We keep a record of all work undertaken on our system so your suspension builds up a service history over time and its worth noting we always call you if we find serious issues or if additional work (and expense!) is involved.

Warranty; we also guarantee our service for three months including parts and labour!

Please note that for rear shocks the price below includes bushings (in the case of Scott and DT these are called spherical bearings or ball joint assemblies) but that we will only change these if they are worn or damaged. Price does not include special or major machined shock parts- we’ll quote additonal costs should they be required.

DTSwiss and Scott Warranty

Dalby Suspension Service Centre is the UK and Ireland authorised warranty and service centre for all DTSwiss products including suspension forks and shocks, wheels and hubs. Our technicians are trained in Switzerland to the highest standard and can rebuild any DT product from a high performance carbon wheel to a long travel shock.

Download and complete this form.

- You should then call Pace for a returns number

- download a Pace Service Form (which you can download from base of this page)

- attach the original proof of purchase

Which brands and what models?

PACE suspension forks from the oldest elastomer model Rc35s, all Rc36, RC37, RC150, RC39, RC40 and RC41s. Older models are collectable and definately worth servicing and repairing for your retrobike rebuild, whilst later models offer outstanding performance. These unique handmade forks will continue to provide great durable service whilst mass produced fork brands become almost disposable products.

SCOTT. As the official Scott suspension service centre we’ve over three years of experience with Scott Nude and Equalizer 2 models (plus the new Equalizer 3) and have accumulated a depth of knowledge and understanding unequalled in Europe. These shocks are technically complex units and to maintain their performance DTSwiss the original manufacturer recommend we carry out a full service at least once per year. All parts stocked. Please note that set-up and technical questions should be handled by your supplying dealer- Dalby Service Centre look after the repair and spare parts for Scott products not technical support.( Currently we do not support the old model Equalizer TC models, only the Equalizer2)

DTSWISS.Fitted as original equipment to many bikes including Merida and Ibis we can give you full factory support service from older SSD models right through to the lastest carbon shock or fork. All DT hubs and wheel products can also be serviced. Please note that set-up and technical questions should be handled by your supplying dealer- Dalby Service Centre look after the repair and spare parts for DT products not technical support. Most parts held in stock for fast professional support.

FOX. Fully trained by Mojo the UK Fox distributor our technicians can service all Fox forks and shocks from the Talas model through to a downhill fork. We carry a wide range of spares and can quickly repair and service the oldest models.

ROCK SHOX. Dalby Suspension Service Centre supports all Rock Shox forks, shocks and suspension seatposts and we stock a wide range of seals, wipers and other parts. On very old models it may be we have to order specialist parts in but generally we can service and repair within 48hrs. Unfortunately we are unable to service MAG Forks.

MARZOCCHI. We can service and repair any Marzocchi shock or fork- from a MonstorT and 888 through to the Bomber and lightweight XC range. We carry most wiper seals, o-rings, fluids and oils so can maintain the excellent suppleness and quick responce typical of Marzocchi suspension and handle most technical and tuning issues.

MANITOU. Most models of shocks and fork which are 5 years old or less are supported by our service centre. Models using IT (Infinate Travel) can be very problamatical, may require specialist work and incur additional costs. Older models can be serviced and seals/wipers are commonly available however specialist parts may be difficult to obtain but we’re confident we can get you up and running again pretty quickly. We do not service the Swinger rear shock.

Courtesy Shocks

Dalby Suspension Service Centre offers a unique courtesy shock service to our customers so you can ride the Dalby forest trails whilst we’re servicing your shock! Having your shock serviced has never been easier. Its convenient, simply book in for the day you want to visit the Dalby Trails. When you arrive we’ll swop out your shock for one of our Courtesy Shocks then away you go free to ride for the day. Call back at the pre-arranged time and have your newly serviced shock refitted. Its simple, quick and unique to the Dalby Suspension Service Centre.

You’ll need to book in your fork/shock for this service- please call Pace on 01751-460599. Please note that we offer this service for any brand of rear shock- however can only offer the same service for forks if they are a Pace or DT model fork.
