TAKES BOTH - 27.5+ OR 29" WHEEL
LONG AND LOW WITH A 65 DEGREE HEAD ANGLE,
BRITISH REYNOLDS 853 CHROMO STEEL FOR THOSE LONG DAYS IN THE SADDLE,
RACK AND MUDGUARD STAYS FOR THE ADVENTURER,
LEGENDARY PACE QUALITY & RELIABILITY.
A whole new class of bike- a whole new bundle of fun. Tough, low and long the RC129/27.5+ has an almost unheard of 65 degree head angle to give you confidence when the trail falls off a cliff. The devils in the detail as they say and lurking under the hood is a tough British Reynolds 853 steel chassis for that subliminal ride, lovingly fabricated, nipped and tucked for that soft and forgiving ride and minimalist look. With all the pedigree of the proven RC127 but designed around the very latest tyre sizes it has a raft of performance benefits including diesel like grip, drive and rollover but without the overweight over blown drawbacks of monster truck tyre sizes. Our unique boosted Slideout system so more room can be created for bigger tyres- up to 2.3” 29er or 2.6” 27.5”+ (takes both). The latest 2.6” Plus tyre allows you to run 30-35mm rims for the perfect tyre profile, cutting through the slime in winter and rolling with unbelievable speed in summer.
Up front the RC127+ will happily run 130 to 150mm travel forks in its elegant tapered headtube and with all hoses and cables beneath the BB another obvious Plus to the RC127+/29 are its clean lines and mean stance. Rooting for an internal dropper and all the quality details you’d expect from Pace.
Plus we’ve built these features into the very latest progressive geometry package blending a gravity defying slack headtube angle with long toptube and low BB giving you insane levels of grip and control. Finished off in Tangy Gloss Orange, Grumpy Carbon Black or Steel Blue (large only). Personalise with a choice of 6 decal colourways.
Gone are the days when 29ers were the preserve of old skool cross country whippets riding short and upright big wheelers. With the right geometry 29ers can be transformed into a trail slaying weapon and gravity defying grinfest. And that concept is fully realised in our RC129/27.5+ a bike designed for real world trail and off-piste rocks ‘n’ roots, slow and technical or flat out flow and jumps.
Out back you will find a 148mm boosted hub, 12mm Thru Axle and our own and original Slideout system so you can tweak the wheelbase, singlespeed her or replace if damaged. Plus reinforced and sealed routing for a Stealth Dropper.
Choose from frame only (£575 NOW £419 includes DT RWS rear thru axle, Hope matching seat clamp and Pace Neoprene Chainstay Protector) our range of Bike Builds or we’ll custom build so your Pace will stand head and shoulders above any other.
The chainstay is kept as short as possible for a real world configuration so manualling and hustling the bike along in gnarly terrain is a cinch. Comparing the 127 with the 129/RC127+ it is both longer and slacker angled enhancing the sensation of stability and dominance over the trail.
Internal routing through the seattube also has reinforcement where the dropper post hose/cable exits and we’ve sealed this with a neat and tidy custom made grommet (we know you love to see attention to detail on a Pace).
Like it’s 127 partner the 29er/plus frame also features graceful curves and tucks to the chain and seat stays to give that extra clearance for wider section tyres and we've added full rear rack and mudguard mounts for those who fancy a bit of back country hustling or need to load up those panniers.
You also get ISCG tabs as standard so should you want to fit a chain retention devise or bash plate you’re good to go.
It also features the latest boosted rear frame spacing so you have clearance for larger section tyres, a stronger rear wheel and an efficient chainline.
Slideouts have been a unique feature on our steel frames for years now and they're a proven way to give you the convenience of replaceable mounts with built in adjustment. CNC machined from 6000 series aluminium this is a well proven design that actually offers more than first meets the eye. The slide outs both bolt into the frame using our unique stainless steel 'T-NUTS' and should be run in full forward position to bring out the most active and urgent riding quality of the bike. Should you want to move the slideout rearward to increase wheelbase or run the bike as a singlespeed then the disc-side has an adjuster screw that penetrates right inside the slide out helping to counteract the rotational load under braking. Meanwhile the drive-side has a push screw design to hold the slideout back as the chain tries to drag it forward. All clever stuff explained in more detail inside the manual. No quirky design or materials here thanks just solid design and engineering.
To protect your frame for the long haul each frame has a corrosion protective ‘ED’ black coating beneath the twin-pack epoxy and tough final lacquer coating and we've chosen to fit the decals on top of the clear coat rather than under the lacquer so you can easily change the decal set and choose a different colour anytime in the future.
