RC325.5 wins full hardtail grouptest lineup
MBUK/ BIKE RADAR 2010.
“Light and comfortable for epics, but fully rigged for the radical too”

4 of 5 stars
‘Pace’s 305 frame was one of our favourite hardcore hardtails and this updated version is even better. It’s now configured for forks up to 150mm (5.9in) and the curved top tube gives more crotch clearance, but otherwise the geometry is unchanged.
The extra cable guides and ISCG tabs are ready for Truvativ’s HammerSchmidt crankset and there’s an optional anti-chainsuck plate. Neat Slideout dropouts simplify singlespeeding or adjusting rear geometry.
There’s a cable guide for light batteries, Crud Catcher mounts and you even get a brass serial number plate. Careful tube selection means that this frame is sharp steering and responsive, but quality like this does come at a high price.’
Pace comments on this review; Well we’re really pleased that our new Rc325.5 should win such a big grouptest first time out- stacked up against every major player as it was in this bike sector. We were careful when designing the 325.5 that we didn’t ruin the good work the Rc305 had done (and the 303 before that) and that the 325.5 offered significant benefits over its predecessors and the competition. The new model has been redesigned to accept a 140mm travel fork (which is now the standard trail fork travel- 130mm as was) and along with a slight slackening of head angle has increased the wheelbase and provides a more sure footed and confidence inspiring ride. The TT length has also been increased by 6mm which allows the fitting of a shorter stem to speed up steering whilst still maintaining a roomy cockpit for great manoeuvrability. Notice the Seatstays also have a shallow radius bend (when viewed from side) which softens the ride slightly. Other than performance features however we’ve also given the 325.5 a full range of options as standard- our unique Slideout system so the bike can run singlespeed, Alfine or standard gears;- ISCG tabs so a chaindevise or hammerschmidt can be fitted;- and an Anti-Chainsuck devise developed over the years on Rc200 and 300 models and transferred here into a 2010 version.
